FOUR TIPS ON HOW TO DEAL WITH IMPACT OF THE CRIME

THE FIRST ONE

It will help if you talk about what happened to your loved ones or friends.
It may be difficult for you to talk about the crime, but sharing your experiences, thoughts and feelings can help you better understand what happened.

If you don't have someone to talk to about your experience, you can find help at the Bílý kruh bezpečí organization
on the Helpline 257 317 110.

THE SECOND ONE

Say how you feel.
Explain to your loved ones what happened and how you feel. Your loved ones may not understand why you react in a different way and may worry about you.

It is therefore important that you talk about the crime and its consequences.

THE THIRD ONE

Seek professional help.
It may happen that you feel worse and you will not be able to manage the situation yourself. In this case, seek professional help.

Contact your general practitioner or contact the Bílý kruh bezpečí - www.bkb.cz (provides space to meet with a psychologist, lawyer, short-term supportive therapy and other services).

THE FOURTH ONE

Remember that the effects of a crime tend to diminish over time.
Most people who become victims of crime recover over time and return to their normal lifestyles.
Consider that your reactions to the crime will gradually diminish until they disappear completely and you will recover and return to your daily life.

At the very least, most victims learn to live with the consequences of the crime.
